Hey y'all!
It's been a minute since I last updated you, and so much has happened (I post a lot more frequently on my twitter and instagram tho)!
Anyway, if I can be completely honest, I felt a little weird emailing you all earlier this year, especially in light of all the much more important things going on in the world. It's a crazy time and we're all trying to figure out how to cope and survive. Music has always been my own little version of therapy, so I kind of hid away and started writing for other artists, working on some features (my latest is a bop with American Matthew called "Love It Away" that debuted on NTS Radio), and re-doing my own EP.
Yeah, you read correctly lol: I started the EP over completely from scratch. I wasn't really happy with the EP I'd been working on. I think I was trying to be someone I wasn't. So, being in quarantine allowed me to lock myself away and really focus on making something I'm actually 300% proud of. I'm not chasing trends or trying to be more commercial...I'm just making music I really care about and digging a little deeper into the lyrics and concepts. The success of my song "Found It" (which is my most lyrically raw song to date), mixed with the craziness of 2020, has had me really thinking about the word honesty and making art from that place. Not to mention, I also have been elevating my production too—one song even has real strings, which has been something on my bucket list for a long time.
